In 2008 we set out to re-create some of the great German Rieslings from the Pfalz region - wines that were a  little riper and not as sweet as most of the Riesling on the market today. Our experience with the grapes from the Williamson and Windridge vineyards made them the obvious choice. These sites are adjacent to one another on one of the Sunny Slope district’s sunniest slopes, just 2 miles northwest of our winery. The great exposure and soil type there allowed us to pick fully ripe fruit with lower acid and subsequently less necessary residual sugar. The grapes were hand-picked, pressed and cold-fermented in stainless steel to preserve the bright, tropical fruit flavors.

The wine has a floral bouquet and exhibits full, lush aromas of apricots and peaches. The finish is barely sweet, not overwhelming, making the wine a good choice with food and not just a sweet aperitif. Our favorites are summer salads, barbeque and appetizers, or with fresh seafood. Serve well-chilled and enjoy!
